Confluence

Features Workspaces

Because your organisation is too big for just one wiki.

Many spaces ...

Each team, department and project has its own needs, and often requires its own workspace. That's why Confluence offers 'spaces' — multiple independently managed wikis, all part of the one site.

A space is where you:

Enterprise-strength security allows you to control who can read or change the content of each individual space.

There is no limit to how many spaces you can create. Each person can even have their own 'personal space'.

... one Confluence

All spaces live within the one Confluence site, and are accessible via a single 'dashboard':

Confluence dashboard

  • Content is easily linked across spaces.
  • Locate information anywhere by searching all spaces.
  • Nominate your 'favourite' spaces for quick and easy access.

Usage example: The HR team uses their space to maintain the company's policies and procedures. The IT team uses their space to maintain system configuration information and knowledge bases. All intranet users can search across any or all spaces.

Watch that space

For each space (and also for your Confluence site as a whole), you can view statistical graphs showing:

  • how many pages are being visited or edited
  • which spaces or pages are the most frequently visited
  • who are the most prolific editors

You can also keep track of changes to the content of individual spaces.

Your content, your way

The content within a space can be viewed in a number of different ways — such as alphabetically, hierarchically, by label or by date.

It can be exported as a cross-referenced PDF or a standalone HTML website:
